Guatemala Huehuetenango El Guaya’B

This harvest — weaving notes of kiwi, mango, honey and white tea — was tended by 115 women who participate in the manos de mujer certification program via El Guaya’B Coop in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. Guaya’B provides members with a wet-mill, integral in supporting farmers by reducing their burden of investing in processing equipment and maintenance. At the mill, farmers deliver their cherries where they are floated, depulped, fermented, washed and then dried. The result is a spirited regional profile ensuring opportunities for women producers.
